The creator of the Reach Right Wheelchair Extender. My journey started when Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis took away my ability to walk, requiring me to use a manual wheelchair. Over time, I noticed that many of my caregivers—especially taller women and men—often struggled with discomfort while pushing my wheelchair, having to hunch or slouch, which caused them back pain. Being in close proximity, I heard their complaints firsthand, which inspired me to find a solution.

That solution became the Reach Right Wheelchair Extender, a simple yet effective attachment designed to improve the posture and comfort of anyone pushing a wheelchair. The extender encourages better body mechanics, allowing caregivers to stand upright, reducing back pain, and making the experience more comfortable for both the caregiver and the person in the wheelchair.

Bringing this idea to life wasn’t easy. I did extensive research and committed a significant amount of my savings to the process because I truly believe in the product’s vision. Now that I’ve found a company to help me through the patenting process, I’m hopeful and determined to make this dream a reality.
